Several online shops turn a customer's photo into a paint by numbers kit. Before writing this page we read the public product, shipping and refund pages of five of them: four that sell in US dollars and one European workshop that sells in euros. The right-hand column sums up what we found across those five. We do not name them, because the useful part is what to check, not who. We run Artistry By Numbers, so keep in mind who wrote it.

The pages were read on October 10 and October 16, 2026. Prices are for a 16"x20" (40x50 cm) canvas unless a line says otherwise. Prices move during sales and policies change, so read the shop's own pages before you order anywhere.

Price of a kit made from your photo

Delivery

Measured delivery	Every order placed between August 14 and September 14, 2026 that shipped with Yanwen: 46 parcels, all delivered. Median 11.9 calendar days from order to door, 40 of 46 within 15 days, slowest 20.7 days.	Not measured. We have no access to other shops' tracking numbers.

If the kit made from your photo goes wrong

Wrong colors, bad outlines	Send a photo of what arrived within 30 days of delivery and the kit is reprinted at our cost. The canvas is not sent back. Source: refund policy	Most shops replace a kit that arrives damaged or with a factory fault. One asks for a video of the problem first.
Does not look like the photo	If the photo check on the product page said "Good to print", a free reprint. One per order. Source: refund policy	Most shops refuse change-of-mind returns on custom kits because they are made to order. What happens next ranges from a free remake to a case-by-case review, and one policy did not say. In the EU, the legal guarantee against defects applies whatever the policy says.
Fees and cancelling	No restocking fee. The refund policy does not mention a cancellation fee. Source: refund policy	Free cancellation within 24 hours at some shops, then a fee or no cancellation once production starts. Cancellation or restocking fees of up to 10% exist.

What to check before you order a custom kit, anywhere

• Which size the price is for. A low headline price can be for the smallest canvas.
• What happens if the kit does not look like your photo. Read the refund page, not the product page.
• Where the kit ships from, and whether the delivery estimate includes production time. If it is a gift, count backwards from the date.
• Cancellation and restocking fees, and how long you have to cancel.

How our delivery figure was measured

Our order system records the day an order ships, not the day it arrives. We took every order placed between August 14 and September 14, 2026 that shipped with Yanwen and read the delivery date on the public Yanwen tracker. The count runs in calendar days from the moment the order was placed, weekends included.
