Van Gogh's yellow vase of fifteen sunflowers, some in full bloom and some already dropping their petals, set against a pale yellow wall, printed as a numbered canvas you paint yourself. He painted the original in oil in Arles in August 1888, and this version hangs in the National Gallery in London.
Why You Will Love It
- Almost the whole picture is yellow, ochre and green, so you learn to tell close shades apart by number rather than by eye
- The flower heads are built from short, separate strokes, which suits the way a numbered canvas breaks a painting into small shapes
- Pick 48 colors to keep the texture in the seed heads and petals, or 24 for larger, simpler sections
- A warm, bright still life that suits a kitchen, dining room or entryway
What Comes in the Box
- Pre-printed canvas with numbered outlines, in the size you choose
- Numbered acrylic paints matched to the canvas, 24, 36 or 48 colors depending on the option you pick
- Brushes in several sizes, from fine detail to broad coverage
- A miniature reference image of the finished painting
- Step-by-step instructions
The canvas ships unframed unless you add the DIY Frame Kit option.
Kit Details
- Canvas sizes: 12x12 in (30x30 cm, small square), 12x16 in (30x40 cm), 16x20 in (40x50 cm, the recommended size), 20x26 in (50x65 cm) and 23.5x23.5 in (60x60 cm, jumbo square). Pick yours in the size menu.
- Paint colors: 24, 36 or 48 numbered acrylic pots, your choice. Fewer colors means larger sections and a quicker paint; more colors means finer detail.
- Frame: canvas only, or add the DIY frame kit (wooden bars you assemble yourself).
- Shipping: free to the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia and New Zealand (free from $69 USD for other countries), with a tracking number. Orders leave our workshop within 1-3 business days and arrive in about 7-15 business days.
Questions we get asked
How many paint colors come with Sunflowers after Vincent van Gogh Paint by Numbers Kit for Adults?
That is your choice in the options: 24, 36 or 48 numbered acrylic pots. Fewer colors gives larger sections and a faster paint. More colors gives finer shading, which matters most in the seed heads and petals. Every pot is matched to the numbers already printed on the canvas, so there is nothing to mix.
What kind of paint is used in a paint by number kit?
Acrylic, water based. It dries in a few minutes, rinses out of the brushes with water, and covers the printed number underneath once dry. Brushes come in the box, from a fine liner for small areas to a wider one for backgrounds.
Does the canvas arrive framed?
No. The canvas ships unframed, which is how you want it while you paint. If you want it mounted afterwards, add the DIY Frame Kit option: wooden bars you assemble yourself around the finished piece.
My acrylic looks streaky. What went wrong?
Most likely nothing. Acrylic thins out as you spread it, so one pass over a dark printed number often shows through. Give that first pass a few minutes to dry and go over it again. Two thin coats cover better than one heavy one.
Can you make a kit from my own photo?
Yes, that is our custom kit. You send the photo, we print the numbered canvas from it and ship it with the same paints and brushes. Photos taken in daylight, in focus, with the subject filling most of the frame are the ones that turn into a canvas worth painting.

لماذا تختار Artistry by Numbers؟
