Collection: Animals

Cats, dogs, horses, lions, wolves, owls, tigers, and plenty of animals you would not expect to find on a canvas.

If you are picking a first animal to paint, start with a bird painting or a horse: broad color zones, simple backgrounds, hard to ruin. A lion or a wolf painting sits one step up, because a mane or a winter coat only looks right once the shading goes in. And when realism is not the point, an abstract animal turns the fur into pure color.

With animals, the color count matters more than the size. At 24 colors, fur reads as flat blocks. At 48 you get the shading around the eyes and along the coat. If you are unsure, 36 is a sensible middle.

Every kit has a pre-printed numbered canvas, matched acrylic paints and brushes in several sizes. Five sizes, from 12x12 to 23.5x23.5 inches, with an optional frame kit. You do not need any painting experience.

If the animal you have in mind is your own, send us a photo through the custom kit. Shipping is free to the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia and New Zealand. Buy two kits and the third is free, applied automatically at checkout.
