A spring canvas does something specific to a room: it raises the apparent light level. Not metaphorically. Pale greens and high value pinks reflect more than the dark furniture and the neutral walls around them, and a wall that had nothing on it in February looks brighter in March for the price of one kit.
What follows is organised by flower, because that is how people actually choose. Everything here sits in Floral and Botanical.
Poppies
The easiest spring flower to paint and the most dramatic on a wall. The petals are simple shapes and the red does the work. Big Red Poppy is a single bloom at close range, which suits a small wall where a field would disappear. Poppy Field after Monet is the opposite decision: hundreds of small red marks across a green field, more time, more reward, and a canvas that survives being looked at every day for years. Poppy Paradise sits between the two.
Irises and peonies
These are the harder canvases and the ones that look least like a kit when they are finished, because the petal structure gives the tracing real depth to work with. Irises after Van Gogh carries the strongest blue in the range. Sunlit Iris is the gentler version of the same subject.
For peonies, Peony Grace is the restrained one and Pink Peony Perfection is not. Take 48 colors for either: a pink peony painted with four pinks reads as a paper flower.
Meadows and wildflowers
The category that suits a large wall, because the composition has no single focal point and it can be seen from across a room without needing to be read. Wildflower Meadow has the most colors of anything in this list. Elysian Daisy Field is the brightest. Tea and Wildflowers brings the flowers indoors onto a table, which makes it the one that works in a kitchen. Wildflower Coastal Bluff puts them against sea and sky.
On tulips
We do not currently print a tulip canvas. It is the flower people ask for most often in spring and we would rather say so than point you at something else and call it a tulip. If that is specifically what you are after, our piece on painting tulips covers why they are such a good beginner subject and how to handle the color, and the nearest thing we stock is the daisy field or the poppy paradise: same season, same flat bright palette, same forgiving shapes.
The other route is your own photograph. A bed of tulips in a park, shot from above at about a metre, converts cleanly. Upload it on the custom kit page.
Beyond the flowers themselves
Spring is not only botanical. Spring Horses puts animals in the season's light, The Verdant Home is a house disappearing into its planting, and Memories of Home works as the warm counterweight in a group of cooler canvases.
Hanging several together
Spring canvases are the ones people buy in twos and threes, and a group needs a rule or it looks accidental. Same size, same spacing, aligned on a centre line. The full method, including how to space an uneven number, is in our gallery wall guide.
Sizes start at $19.95 for the 12x12 inch square and run to a 23.5 inch jumbo. Free shipping to the US, Canada, the UK, the EU, Australia and New Zealand, thirty day guarantee.
