Description
Five things that are not in the box, and that most people end up buying one at a time after their first kit.
- Ten brushes, flat and round. Three flat and angular for filling the large shapes, seven round tapering to a point. Blue handles, gold ferrules.
- Ten liner brushes, 000 to 7. The fine end of the range, for shapes a standard brush cannot land inside without crossing into its neighbour.
- A white acrylic marker. Pale colours let the printed number show through from underneath. One pass with this covers the number before the colour goes over the top.
- A two-finger glove. It covers the little finger, the ring finger and the edge of the palm, which is exactly the part of the hand that drags across paint laid down ten minutes earlier.
- A magnifier. Handheld, glass lens, plastic handle. It is for reading a number that has gone illegible, not for painting through, since it occupies a hand.
The five arrive in one parcel. They are not listed separately in the shop.

How Many Colors Should I Choose?
You can pick how many colors you want in your kit. The more colors, the more detail.
24 colors provides basic detail and is great for beginners. 48 colors is nearly lifelike but could take a long time. 36 colors provides a happy medium, enough detail and not too too long finish.

Every Artistry by Numbers kit ships with the five items below. Beyond a jar of water and a cloth, there is nothing else to buy before you start.
- Canvas: pre-printed with the numbered outlines, in the size picked at checkout.
- Acrylic paints: numbered pots matched to the canvas sections, 24, 36 or 48 of them depending on the level of detail chosen.
- Brush set: several sizes, the smallest one for sections narrower than a fingernail.
- Instruction sheet: how to read the numbers and the order worth painting in.
- Reference image: a small print of the finished artwork to work from.

A paint by numbers canvas arrives printed with outlined sections, and every section carries a number. The number tells you which numbered pot to open. You fill the sections one after another, and the picture builds itself as you go. Nothing has to be drawn, measured or mixed, which is why a first canvas works exactly like a twentieth.
